STATEMENT

"I have been painting professionally since 2000. My watercolor and acrylic paintings often represent realistic detail, dramatic lighting, and vivid color. I have a deep love of nature, light, and people living everyday life. My paintings capture light as it interacts within a landscape, within nature, or upon people performing their daily activities. The challenge of representing the bright warmth and movement of light is what has drawn me to watercolor and acrylic painting. I love to travel and my paintings often result from on-location paintings and photos. I strive to capture the drama of light, movement, and color of a subject in all of my paintings."

BIOGRAPHY

I am a self-taught artist. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be an artist and was constantly drawing and painting. When I was in eighth grade, my sketching of George Washington Carver was placed on permanent display in the Federal Building located in downtown Shreveport, LA. During high school and college, I continued to sketch and paint for personal enjoyment, however I didn't have much time or money to pursue it professionally. Now that I am out of college, I am enjoying this opportunity to learn and grow as an artist. For me, painting revolves around my continued discovery and exploration of the world around me. It is a life long learning process that I hope to share with others as I develop my skill and technique.
